Adoption and New Birth

At the root of the confusion of the new birth with adoption among believers is a preoccupation with the cultural baggage of the Roman period and world, concerning adoption, making it superior to birth where son-ship is concerned.

This teaching completely ignores the fact that those who have been “born again” are co-heirs with Christ. In short we inherit all the perks of the first born, and we do this through the new birth, not the adoption that precedes the new birth, Galatians 4
