1. Belief in the existence of a God on the evidence of reason and nature only, with rejection of supernatural revelation.
2. Belief in a God who created the world but has since remained indifferent to it.
A recent encounter with some new friends struck me with something this morning:
What’s been calling itself “church” practices relational Deism. This is to say, they give God credit for being present, and active among His people, but refuse to believe that He is also active in the formation of relationships among believers.
The God I know, both from His Word, and experientially is Lord of relationships gender neutral, which is to say, without regard to gender.
the LIVING GOD, JESUS, having called Paul to be an apostle to HIS chuch, gave to Paul much “revelation” from the HOLY SPIRIT. One Holy Scipture that has been much passed over and not “revealed” to most of HIS children is found in II cor.II 1-4 with v.4 having the impact and warning. “For if he that cometh preacheth another JESUS, whom we have not preached, etc…. [please read it all]
These are the ones Paul spoke of saying, “They have a form of godliness, but deny the power thereof. From such turn away.” The power of God is found in those who have a viable relationship with Jesus and the Father through the Spirit of God within them. Many biblicists are functional diests. The adhere to the Bible as “the Word of God,” but deny that Christ is the Living Word that still speaks!
