Have you noticed, that kings tend to be way too loud, even kings by any other name?
It can only be that we are supposed to have a part in what it takes to shut them down and make them understand:
“See, my servant will act wisely; he will be raised and lifted up and highly exalted. Just as there were many who were appalled at you, (my people) his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any man and his form marred beyond human likeness—so will he sprinkle many nations, and kings will shut their mouths because of him. For what they were not told, they will see, and what they have not heard, they will understand.” Isaiah 52:13-15 NIV
This is the power of the revelation of the cross. This is how we know what love is, and this is how The King of Kings establishes His kingdom in, but not of the earth. The subjects of the kingdom are supposed to be part of the ongoing revelation of this love that silences earthly kings, the ones who commit adultery with Babylon the Great.
Lambs need to be much quieter than what has been calling itself “church.”
“They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.” Revelation 12:11
“Word of their testimony” is not lambs talking, but rather word of how they are for and with each other.
God Help us!!
Love!
“Behold my servant, whom I uphold; my elect, in whom my soul delights; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth justice to the Gentiles. He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street. A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth justice unto truth. He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he has established justice in the earth: and the coastlands shall wait for his law.” (Isaiah 42:1-4 KJ2000)
The Lamb of God was one with the Father and THIS was the testimony because He spoke only the words of the Father and did only the works His Father was doing. He then prayed that we would be one even as they are one. Is it any wonder with all the self-willed divisions in Christendom that all this “Christian” preaching “in the streets” is so empty?
:-) Thanks! Michael!
in our most precious guide, the HOLY BIBLE, IT states a wonderful truth in 2 tim.2:19b: “THE LORD knows those who are HIS”. HE is all knowing and HIS plan seems to be faltering, and yet HE will bring about and fulfill HIS every word. HIS church will prevail!!! HE is building it, NOT MAN! let us humble ourselves so as HE can be the potter in our lives and use us as HE pleases and be content.
“How long will you who are simple love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge? Pro. 1:22
