The following post is a transcription of a message shared in July, 2007. The place was a Searching Together Conference in the mid-west (now held in Elgin, IL. See www.searchingtogether.org)
“Carleen and I are very glad to be with you again. This is such a wonderful, gracious environment to share in. There’s a big difference between searching together and knowing alone. I’ve done it both ways, and really like the together part of it. I’m praying that great grace will be upon us, and we will really be unoffendable. The things I share I’m very passionate about, but I’m ready to repent if you can show me a more excellent way. So it’s just nice to have that kind of environment where there is the liberty to share our heresies. [laughter].
I wasn’t sure if we would be able to make it this year, but the Lord had me in a place of desperation. I called Jon Zens out of that desperation, and Jon made me an offer I couldn’t refuse by giving me a topic, “The Needs of the Bride of Christ.” Be still my heart. That settled it.
A recent book that I’ve looked at was Desire by John Eldridge. Has anyone else seen that book? Desire. Good book. Oh yes, it’s a good book. So I’m going to get my talk over with real quick. The needs of the Bride of Christ… Intimacy.” >>
