Proclaim Liberty Throughout the Land and to All the Inhabitants Thereof!

freedom man rejoice skyThis is a word about the liberty wherewith Christ has set us free.  This is the liberty to do whatever our hearts desire, because, Jesus is in us both to will and to do His good pleasure!  The catch is that this liberty is only in the Spirit, 2 Corinthians 3:17.

This is the liberty, which for over two thousand years has been trampled under foot of men. Instead of Jesus in the midst of even two or three, men have put themselves and their agendas in the midst.  This is a control issue.  Historically the gatherings of what has been calling itself “church” have been controlled by either men/“leadership” in the midst, or liturgy.  In either case, the liberty that rightly belongs to the saints has been replaced by the doing of external authority.  This is the authority that Jesus is presently bent on destroying, 1 Corinthians 15:24-26.  The authority of the Kingdom of God is an internal authority, an authority that sets us free, and one that will never pass away, for, as the Messiah proclaims: “He must reign for ever and ever!”

That said, it is past time that we refocus our purpose in the earth. Our purpose is the demonstration of the love of God – the first fruit of the Spirit. If we haven’t got that part right, we need to just stay home until we receive power from on high.  This is the power of the Holy Spirit – don’t leave home without IT!

The Timing of the Rapture

Perhaps a better title would be the Chronology of the Rapture relative to the Great Tribulation.

Whatever we might find in the Scripture, (that may be understood to imply that the saints will be “raptured” prior to, or at the appearing of the man of sin) the great weight of Scripture places the rapture of the saints after the revelation of the man of sin, and after the great tribulation:

Jesus is not the author of confusion, and presumably neither is the Holy Spirit speaking through Paul to the Thessalonians, a Gentile church:

“Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, … Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come, until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction.” II Thessalonians 2:1-3

Also:

“… after the distress of those days… the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky…” Matthew 24:29,30

Keep in mind, this is Jesus answering the question of his disciples, “… what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”

Clearly this would be a useless sign, if the believers were not going to be around for its happening. Believers, even Gentile believers, will see the revelation of the man of sin, before they are raptured.

Perhaps most to the point:

“… Let both grow together until the time of the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles… The Son of Man will send out his Angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil…” Matthew 13:24-30 and 36-43

Is there no balm in Gilead, no physician there?

“Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is there no healing for the wound of my people?” – Jeremiah 8:22

Without going into how the Lord revealed it to me, some years ago now, the Lord prompted me to look up the word “balm” in my Strong’s concordance. I was led to the root word, which meant “crack and cause to leak.” I thought what kind of medicine is that? When I realized that was the way a poultice works, I looked that up in Strong’s also, and found two references, both to the same event.

“Prepare a poultice of figs, put it on the boil and you will be healed,” or words to that effect – advice from the Lord through Isaiah to Hezekiah.

Anyway, he did this, and Hezekiah was healed. I immediately realized that this was a picture of Jesus. Jesus is the poultice who takes away the sins of the world. When He hung on the cross, prepared by his stripes to be a poultice, all of the sins of the world in time and space came to a head, and were drawn into him who knew no sin that we might be the righteousness of God in Him. To prepare a poultice of figs first requires that the fig be peeled, and that is what the stripes accomplished. And then there was an earthquake – a crack in connection with His death. In the ministry of Paul we see the continuation of this ministry of stripes.

And so, it is clear that we are an extension of this same poultice ministry, a part of His redemptive purpose in the earth.
