Hope – Part 2

Returning once again to Romans 8:20, why would The Creator frustrate His own creation? Having frustrated it in hope, what was He hoping for? Romans is careful to tell us that neither the creation nor created things were responsible for the frustration, but the Creator Himself. When did this happen? What happened? Why?

Romans 8:24 asks the question, “Who hopes for what they already have?” To frustrate a creation, one must first have a creation, so the creation must have already been created at the time it was subjected to frustration. It must have been before “the fall.” The frustration was already in the garden before “the fall,” and was a contributing factor leading to “the fall.”

What was God hoping for, which is to say, What was it He did not already have? Why did He neglect to create what He was hoping for? Was it an oversight on The Creator’s part? We think not. It could only be there must have been something The Creator could not create – something He was hoping for that frustration could facilitate.

The answer is at once simple and profound. Any thoughts? :-)

When at last we’ve grown up, there remains faith, hope and love. However, my natural state seems to be the cynic and that seems justified to me by virtue of the types of relationship I’ve known throughout my life. So very many have been narcissistic – people who are takers and oblivious to giving and reciprocating. Precious few are givers who love genuinely and unselfishly, and take heart felt interest in others. There are so many of the former type, when the latter is found, it’s like that treasure in a field, a pearl of great price, it’s recognized for what it is and every effort is made to have and hold it – to embrace it for the rare and beautiful thing that it is.

We go through life and meet so many people; most in passing, some for a season, but just one that we take “until death do us part”. Why? I tell my beloved that she’s beautiful. She blushes and tells me to stop, or sometimes denies what I’ve said. I tell her that I *see her* and by that I mean all of her; for in her I see more of Christ than in any other person I know – mostly I see her heart – the faith, the hope, the love and in her those things glow and gleam. In me it stirs delight, for the wife of noble character IS worth more than rubies. And I’ve found her.

I’m wary of projecting my own heart onto the Creator, in the sense of a man trying to define / create God. Still I have to believe what He is looking for, is reflection of His character – reciprocation of His love – and those being by choice. Requited love. He is looking for requited love.

The world is full of the unrequited kind. With them, He will not contend forever. And who could blame Him?

I understand and pick up what you are laying down but my take away from my present perspective on my Journey on this post out side of the context of the previous post on Heb 11:1 ( Hope and Frustration) is that since we have as man and woman been separated we long to be ONE again as a picture of the intimacy we want with Him and the expectation that we can meet that need in another mortal being here in this realm causes our frustration? But I may just be confused since I am merely Dirt with breath breathed into it by Him who created me trying to negotiate this temporary place we find ourselves. <3
